Life Drive

I wrote this three years ago. A little blast from the past.

The Hard Drive of Life

Life is like a hard drive.
Always running.

In life, getting the things you really want takes a long time.
Just as finding that small text file takes really long on your big hard drive.

Life is largely occupied by stuff we don’t really need; worries, fights, job.
Hard drive is mostly full of things that are rarely necessary; temp files, movies we never watch.

Life is like a hard drive.
Always spinning.

Once in a while, we need to defragment the hard drive to keep it going efficiently.
And we need to take vacations to keep life going smoothly.

To manage it properly, we partition the hard drive.
Like we partition our life into family, work and friends.

Life is like a hard drive.
Always taking up more.

We sleep every night to rest our minds.
Hard drive also turns off when not in use.

Sometimes, life hits you hard; you fall, only stand up again and run.
Just like those dreaded crashes, where you format the drive and start over.

Life is like a hard drive.
Always asking for more space.

How many times did you wish you had a bigger hard drive?
How many more years do you want to live?

Whatever happens; it’s getting more data on it.
Whatever happens; you are always experiencing something.

Deep down, you know; it’s going to burn out one day.

You got backup?
